Soft Cervical Collar – Neck Brace.
Soft Cervical Collar or neck brace is a medical device worn on the neck and used to therapeutically help realign the spinal cord, support the neck, and help relieve pain. Neck pain has become so common that many people often tend to avoid the problem. When most neck problems can be cured by wearing a good Soft Cervical Collar, most people often refrain from this simple solution. This may lead to further complications in the future. Most episodes of neck pain are due to a muscle strain from poor posture.
Our soft cervical collars are recommended where a partial or controlled immobilization of the cervical region is required. They offer better support, perfect immobilization and are more cushioned, allow proper air ventilation, rust proof eyelets, causes no rash on the skin and edges are perfectly made to avoid skin bite hence enhanced patient comfort.
Soft Cervical Collar is the least limiting, but they carry a higher risk of further cervical breakage, especially in patients with osteoporosis. They may be used for minor injuries, to decrease the pain of awkward neck positions, or in the later stages of a phased recovery process after healing results in the neck becoming more stable.
Soft Cervical Collar also may be used therapeutically to relieve pain from head movements and to help realign the spinal cord, or to support the neck during post-surgical recovery after a cervical spinal fusion. Other conditions for which Soft Cervical Collar may be prescribed include cervical arthritis, mild muscle weakness, cervical facet syndrome, disc displacement, degenerative disc disease, pain, and following any cervical trauma. Cervical collars generally are not worn for long periods of time, though if the pain is persistent the collar may be required throughout the healing process. Studies have shown that long periods of neck immobility can decrease muscle strength and weaken the recovery.
